The BC Commercial Fishing Association (BCCFA) is conducting a labour market study with employers/ owner-operators to examine the future HR needs of the commercial fishing sector and interconnected marine sectors in B.C.'s blue economy. The goal of this research is to better understand the sector's labour needs, the impacts of new technologies, skills requirements, innovative approaches, and training in digital skills for employees in rural and remote communities, and to identify transferable skills with related sectors in the blue economy.
All information collected will be maintained in strict accordance with applicable provincial privacy legislation. Survey results will be reported in aggregate, so that no individual or business will be identifiable.
